For this year's Halloween episode, I'm heading back to 1986 to revisit one of the wildest combinations of heavy metal music and supernatural horror ever committed to film: TRICK OR TREAT!

And what better way to celebrate than by checking out the incredible new Limited Edition 4K Ultra HD release from Red Shirt Media and Synapse Films!

Directed by Charles Martin Smith, TRICK OR TREAT stars Marc Price as Eddie Weinbauer, a bullied high school student whose obsession with heavy metal becomes something far more sinister when his favorite rock star, Sammi Curr, dies under mysterious circumstances.

When Eddie gets his hands on a mysterious recording of Sammi's unreleased music, he discovers that playing the record backward might bring his idol back from the dead.

Unfortunately, Sammi isn't particularly interested in resting in peace!

What follows is a gloriously outrageous mixture of supernatural horror, teenage rebellion, 1980s rock culture, and some seriously electrifying special effects!

And did I mention the movie features appearances by Ozzy Osbourne and Gene Simmons? Because what's an '80s heavy metal horror movie without a couple of actual rock legends?

With a soundtrack featuring Fastway, TRICK OR TREAT has become a beloved cult classic among horror fans, metalheads, and anyone who remembers the days when heavy metal was supposedly going to corrupt an entire generation!

But nearly 40 years later, does this wonderfully ridiculous slice of 1980s horror still rock?

And is the new Limited Edition 4K release worthy of a place in your physical media collection?
